Past Events:

NOVEMBER 16, 2011: Foundation SCA's 3rd Annual Benefit Gala took place at the Organization of American States in downtown Washington, DC.  Mid-evening, Brenda Royden (Board Member and head of the Benefit 2011 Committee) welcomed guests and introduced Dr. Sophia Aguirre, president and founder of SCA. 

Dr. Aguirre spoke about SCA's mission and the importance of care for women and SCA's work in international development.  Christine McGrath, executive director of SCA, then gave a gracious and warm welcome to guest of honor, Mr. Ed W. Scott, Jr., philanthropist, former Senior U.S. Government official, and businessman.  Mr. Scott spoke also about the crucial nature of care and development for women--particularly, the whole woman--for international development.  [Mr. Scott's speech is coming.]

THANK YOU to all who came and supported SCA and its mission!  We hope this year brings much growth to SCA and the fulfillment of its mission, and you are a definite part of making this dream a reality.

DECEMBER 2, 2010:  Foundation SCA's 2nd Annual Benefit  was graciously hosted by the Embassy of the Republic of Slovenia, Washington, DC.   Ambassador Roman Kirn opened the evening, followed by Foundation SCA President Dr. Sophia Aguirre.  Our guest speaker was Dr. John Lenczowski, founder and president of the Institute of World Politics.  

During a brief interlude in our cocktail reception, Mrs. Brenda Royden (Board Member) gave some brief remarks before we showed the Foundation SCA video (also found on the front page of this webpage).  

The whole evening was marked by a festive and friendly tone, clearly reflective of the positive and supportive spirit of everyone there.  THANK YOU to all who have supported and continue to support the work of the Foundation to help women and girls live with dignity throughout the world.

NOVEMBER 2009: Foundation SCA's 1st Annual Benefit 2009, Washington, D.C.

Foundation SCA held our inaugural benefit on November 10, 2009 at a beautiful historic home in Arlington, VA. It was wonderful to meet so many local supporters and to personally thank everyone for giving our girls and women the financial support they truly need. On behalf of the Foundation SCA Board and staff, THANK YOU for making the evening and our first year a success!
